Dave & Marian

RCC Freedom of the Seas December 2011

Our pre cruise hotel in Orlando was next to a miniature golf course.
Guess what was the main hazard!

But lets face it, it is really about the cruise, so lets go aboard.

Lets start with a tour of the ship.

Here is the Flow Rider, surfing anyone?

There is Miniature Golf

The Rock Climbing Wall

The Track. There is also an ice skating rink below, but I never got a picture of it.

Here is Marian with our Assistant Waiter, Vincent

The Royal Promenade was something else.
Five stories high and most of the length of the ship.

The Schooner Piano Bar, one of our preferred night spots

I remember the Crypt Coffee House from High School, but it was not a Disco!

Of course every cruise has some ports of call:

Labadee, Haiti

This Peninsula is Royal Caribbean's private beach resort

Falmouth, Jamaica

Here we are backing into port, Cool
But it would be cooler if I was driving!

There is something about leaving port at night

Next Stop, Goerge Town, Grand Caymen

Here is Marian. Where is Dave?
I am there but a little behind

So we have it on good authority that hell has not froze over
But who would have guessed that it is on Grand Caymen

Some reefs on Grand Caymen

And the Turtle farm, watch your fingers

Returning to ship
No, not the wooden one, they would not let me drive it either

And we are off to sea again

Cozumel, Mexico

Okay, so I made it for this picture

There were 6 ships in port that day

Ready, Set, Better hurry, we are leaving

There is still something cool about leaving in the evening
Even if I am not driving

Back on Ship, The Dream Works Parade

I didn't expect to care for this part but it was really fun

Okay, so here is what you have been waiting for:
THE SEA RESCUE

We were about mid way between Cuba and Florida, when 8 Cuban's needed our help.
Unfortunately by the time we were aware of what was going on we had missed the rescue, but here are our crew picking up the last of our crew once the Cuban's were safe and sound on board.

Then we left their craft behind. We do not know if it was picked up later by the U.S. Coast Guard or what. A couple of hours later the U.S. Coast Guard met up with us and picked up our Cuban's. Unfortunately we did not get pictures of that.

Back in Orlando at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

Well that's it folks, and now we are back to work.
