Dave & Marian
San Francisco to Hawaii Cruise January 2014
We Started out in San Francisco
The China Town Gate

Dave and our friend Judy from last years cruise.
Judy Gave us a Great Tour, we had a wonderful day with her.

The Ocean at Sutro Baths.

And it is Sail Away Time
San Francisco Bay

Alcatraz

Golden Gate Bridge

We Made new Friends Jennie & Ron
We plan to sail with them again next year. We will have to get a better picture then.

So here is the scoop.
We were about half way to Hawaii and around midnight a crew member jumped overboard.
It is really very sad, he was married with a young daughter. It is not clear why he jumped.
It did not really effect us as the ship is the resort, but we did spend the next 36 hours doing search patterns.
Unfortunately, he was never found.
We were assisted by a Freighter.

We were also assisted by The Star Princess.
Funny thing, we had friends on the Star Princess.

And during the day there was also an Air Search.

Now after 5 days at Sea, I think I see land out there.
Yup, we are approaching Honolulu, O'ahu

First we had to pick up the Harbor Captain.

Coming into port.

An O'ahu Sunset

The next morning we woke up in Kaua'i

And we went for a helicopter ride.
This was a highlight, sit back and enjoy.

And we are off to the next port.

Now in Maui
In Route to Haleakala National Park

The Haleakala Creator

The Maui Ocean Center Aquarium

So Long Maui
And now for the trip back to San Francisco

On the 2nd Last Day we did The Ship's Ultimate Tour
They usually only do one per cruise and the number is limited. There were 14 on ours.
This was our third time trying to get on.
Here we are on the Stage

Here we are in one of the Mooring Rooms.

In the Engineer Control Room

We Finished up on the Bridge. Here we are with the Captain.
The Tour lasted 4 hours, then we spent another hour with the Captain doing Q & A.
If you ever get the chance, take the tour, it was great, plus we got a pile of gifts.

Now Back in San Francisco Area
We Visited Muir Woods

A View of San Francisco from Sausalito

Here we are in Carmel

Carmel Beach

A Carmel Street

We found a Thomas Kinkade Gallery

Then we went to Monterey

And some Pictures from San Francisco

Some Sea Lions
Our Hotel
The Hills were incredible. Good thing it does not snow there.
And of course the famous Cable Cars

So that is our trip.
